Toronto Youth Shorts T24 Project 2012

I’m very pleased to announce that we will be adding two films from local filmmakers to our April 13 program. A few weeks back, I attended a screening of the T24 Project, an initiative of the Toronto Youth Shorts Festival in which teams of filmmakers had just 24 hours to shoot and edit a short film on a given topic. 15 teams gathered on the snowy evening of February 10th as festival director Henry Wong presented them with the theme: “how cinematic narratives, genres and form can work to expose and deconstruct the myths and ideologies surrounding an urban cityscape such as Toronto.” 12 teams turned in completed films, and of these, I chose two which in my opinion stood out from the rest. Overall, my expectations were wildly exceeded, and I’m excited to show the following two films in our program.
