I’m excited to share with you our 2022 animation jury. We’re so thankful to have their participation this year.
Laura Kim has always had a passion for art in many of its forms: poetry, film, music, and photography. Her artistic contributions range from published poems to serving on the JAYU film festival’s jury. She is currently a student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a double major in Cinema Studies and English with a minor in Creative Expression and Society. At U of T, she is Vice President External of the Cinema Studies Student Union and is excited to be a part of the Shorts Not Pants animation jury.
Meres J. Weche
Meres J. Weche is the founder and publisher of Culture Shox Media. The Toronto-based media company publishes a series of websites and podcasts focusing on the arts, culture and travel. Meres is a film lover and an accredited journalist with the Toronto International Film Festival. He’s a former two-time official judge with the JUNO Awards in the Francophone Album of the Year and World Music Artist of the Year categories. He most recently served as Head of Editorial for the Noor Riyadh Festival of Light in Saudi Arabia. An adventure seeker, he has lived and worked on four continents.
Mark Tara is the producer and host of Rainbow Country, a nationally syndicated gay radio show that was named the #1 LGBT podcast by Podomatic and the #2 LGBT podcast in Canada according to Feedspot. Mark is also a musician whose song “Different Love” was used as the official song of Pride in 2000.
